Using green wood from recently downed local trees, move from log to bowl in one day. Safe use of the lathe and tools and basic bowl turning technique in the morning, then choose your log, turn and finish a bowl in the afternoon.

Bowl Turning, Next Step. All Day Class. You’ve taken the Fundamental Bowl Turning Class and you’re ready for the next step. We’ll be tackling a larger bowl in the morning and a natural edge bowl in the afternoon.

Duplicating Spindles. All Day Class. Add to the skills you learned in the Introduction to Woodturning Workshop by learning to duplicate a spindle turning Spend the morning making a matching pair of candlesticks and then in the afternoon, design and create a 3 legged stool. There will be time for sanding and finishing. Class. $200 includes lunch.

Making Plates. Morning Class. Use your spindle turning and bowl turning experience to make plates. Pre-requisite, either Introduction to Woodworking, Bowl Turning or woodturning experience.
Stay for the afternoon open studio. 1 pm - 4 pm. $20/hour
Sharpening. Half Day Class. Learn to sharpen your gouges using a grinding wheel and a hone in this half day workshop. Introduction to Woodturning or prior woodturning experience is a prerequisite for this class. Bring your own tools. Open studio hours available in the afternoon.

Spindle Projects. All Day Class. Use the skills you learned in the Introduction to Woodturning Workshop to turn a set of spindle projects. A quick review of the basic cuts and then on to turning rolling pins, mashers, muddlers, egg cups, wine stoppers, and more. We’ll have time for sanding and finishing your projects before you take them home. Prerequisite: Introduction to Woodturning Workshop or spindle turning experience.
