The Right Start - Spindle Turning
Learn spindle turning in this all day workshop designed for beginners. Starting with basic tool use, learn the between center woodturning techinques used by professional turners for centuries for spindle production. Have fun applying the bead & cove cuts to create wine stoppers, mallets, honey dippers and more. Instructor: Mark Supik.
8:30 AM meet your classmates. Coffee. Donuts from Hoehn's.
9:00 AM to Noon. Lathe operation, woodturning safety. Use of the roughing & spindle gouges and parting tool.
Noon to 1 pm. Lunch provided from DiPasquale's Market
1 pm to 4 pm. Choose projects to turn & finish
Students are provided with the safety equipment, an individual lathe and set of tools to use during the workshop. All project materials provided. Class size is limited to 6. Cost is $165 for the all day workshop, $50 deposit required to hold your space, refundable up to one week prior to class.
